KVKK Disclosure

This notice is provided under Article 10 of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”), Türkiye’s personal data protection law, regarding the processing of your personal data in connection with Closee services.

1. Identity of the data controller

Closee is not operated by a company; it is operated by a natural person (an individual developer). The data controller is:

Email is the primary contact channel.

2. Categories of personal data processed

  • Identity / contact: name or display name, email, phone (to the extent provided)
  • Customer transaction / account: auth identifiers, account status, preference settings
  • Profile content: age / year of birth, bio, photos, interests and matching preferences
  • Location: approximate location / distance for matching (when permitted)
  • Transaction security / technical: IP, device information, log records, notification token
  • Communication content: in-app messages and media (between matches)
  • Match interactions: likes, passes, match records

3. Processing purposes

  • Carrying out membership and authentication processes
  • Providing the dating / matching service and messaging
  • Improving user experience and support processes
  • Security and prevention of fraud and abuse
  • Complying with legal obligations
  • Processing based on explicit consent (e.g. certain notifications or location features)

4. Legal bases

Your personal data is processed primarily under Articles 5 and 6 of KVKK on the following bases:

  • Being directly related to the formation or performance of a contract
  • Processing being necessary for the data controller’s legitimate interests (provided this does not harm fundamental rights and freedoms)
  • Your explicit consent
  • Being expressly provided for by law / fulfilling a legal obligation

If special categories of personal data are processed, the relevant provisions of KVKK and the conditions for explicit consent / exceptions will be followed.

5. Transfers (domestic / international)

Your data may be transferred domestically to support, hosting, or business partners for providing the service; and internationally, in particular to Supabase and cloud / push infrastructure providers. Transfers are made within KVKK’s rules on international transfers and appropriate safeguards. For details, see the Privacy Policy.

6. Retention

Your personal data is retained for as long as required by the processing purposes and for the retention periods set out in applicable legislation. When the purpose no longer applies or the account is deleted, deletion, destruction, or anonymization is applied, subject to mandatory legal retention.

7. Data subject rights (KVKK Art. 11)

As a data subject, you may:

  • Learn whether your personal data is processed
  • Request information if it has been processed
  • Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used in line with that purpose
  • Know the third parties to whom it is transferred in Türkiye or abroad
  • Request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate
  • Request deletion or destruction under Article 7 of KVKK
  • Request that correction / deletion be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred
  • Object to a result against you arising from analysis exclusively by automated systems
  • Request compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing

8. How to apply and timeframe

You may submit requests regarding your rights in writing or by other methods determined by the Personal Data Protection Board to the data controller. Preferred channel:

  • Email: info.closeeapp@gmail.com
  • Using “KVKK Başvurusu” (KVKK Request) in the subject line is recommended
  • Information that helps verify your identity may need to be included

Under Article 13 of KVKK, applications are concluded free of charge as soon as possible and within thirty days at the latest, depending on the nature of the request; if the process requires an additional cost, a fee may be charged according to the tariff set by the Board.
